spoon making performance at studio window gallery

Japanese artist Rei Kakiuchi transformed a tiny shopwindow into an art studio for the Groot Rotterdam Atelier Weekend. During this weekend he will be crafting wooden spoons which he sees as one of the first tools invented as an extensions of our hands. For him, the invention of the spoon marks the moment in history where mankind started to imagine and develop modern technology.
The shopwindow he works from is not only a nod to the tiny sized apartments in Japan, but also an act of protest against the current shortage of affordable studio space for artists in Rotterdam.
Can't breath!
